Jihad Fitruni on Motor Insurance Trends During Ramadan

Mr. Jihad Fitruni, CEO of UIS, stated in an interview with Al Khaleej Newspaper that insurance companies in the United Arab Emirates work during the month of Ramadan to enhance service efficiency and simplify procedures in line with the unique rhythm of the holy month.

He explained that the sector increasingly relies on digital transformation, enabling customers to issue insurance policies electronically within minutes. Clients can also download policy documents, make modifications, and renew their insurance entirely through digital platforms.

Regarding motor insurance offers during Ramadan, Fitruni noted that many companies introduce seasonal promotions that may include discounts on both comprehensive and third-party motor insurance policies. The level of discount varies depending on the insurance provider, the type of vehicle, and the driver’s record.

Some companies also offer flexible installment options, either with zero interest or minimal fees, encouraging customers to purchase or renew their policies during the period.

Fitruni added that some car dealerships launch Ramadan promotions that include one year of free insurance when purchasing a new vehicle, while others offer integrated packages that combine insurance, vehicle registration, and maintenance services within a single offer.

These initiatives reflect the sector’s efforts to benefit from the seasonal commercial activity during Ramadan while providing additional value to customers.

He also highlighted that insurance companies, service providers, and brokers now provide online comparison platforms, allowing customers to review multiple offers and choose the most suitable coverage in terms of price and benefits.

Flexible payment solutions are also increasingly available, including monthly installment plans offered in cooperation with banks, which help reduce the financial burden on customers and facilitate purchasing decisions.

Regarding claims, Fitruni explained that insurance companies have significantly upgraded their digital systems, enabling customers to submit accident reports, upload photos, and track the status of their claims online.
